Plymouth State University Hosts Veterans Pow Wow
February 17th, 2011 - This was the first Veterans Pow Wow hosted by Plymouth State University and drew a group of 600 people to the John C. Foley Gymnasium. This came right after New Hampshire became one of the last states to establish an Indian Commission, which is a significant step forward for New Hampshire's relationship its Native American population. Vermont Recognizes Native American Tribes
April 22, 2011 - Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin granted state recognition to two tribes, the Elnu Abenaki Tribe and the Nulhegan Band of the Coosuk Abenaki Nation. The Elnu Abenaki and the Nulhegan Band of the Coosuk Abenaki Nation both spent several years fighting for this recognition. More information can be found at the link below.
